Headteacher’s Message

“I am really proud of our school and the staff work extremely hard to make learning engaging, exciting and fun!”

Welcome to Arkholme C of E Primary School, when you walk through our doors you can feel our ethos. We are a welcoming, friendly, caring school, where every single child really does matter.

At Arkholme, we aim to inspire a love for learning by providing a rich and exciting education for all the children, within a happy, stimulating and healthy environment. We want each child to achieve the best he or she can be.

We all work as a very close collaborative team and strive to involve parents as much as possible in the learning of their children. Our Governing body plays an essential role in the development and success of the school. Parents work in partnership with us and we have a thriving Friends’ Association whose members work extremely hard to raise money and to provide a range of social events for families. We have a strong sense of community. Our most recent, and very successful, Ofsted inspection recognised this:

“Leaders have established a welcoming and nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to develop a love of learning. The school is at the heart of the village community.” (OFSTED January 2019)

As a small school we get to know our children and families very well and our pastoral systems promote the development of excellent relationships between pupils and the whole staff team. The children have a strong sense of belonging to a school family and by the time children leave us at the end of Year 6, they are responsible, independent young people, and we are very proud of them.

Thank you for showing an interest in our school. If you would like to make an appointment to visit, please contact the school office.

Very best wishes,

Joy Ingram
