Arkholme Church of England Primary School

Welcome to Owl Class. We are a class of year 5 and 6 children. Our teachers are Mrs Whitaker and Mrs Cunliffe and our teaching assistants are Mrs Hamer, Mrs Donald and Mr Hamner.

The teachers in Owl class and school expect us to do our best. They trust us to learn and to be honest and trustworthy. We respect the teachers, all adults and each other. We have gained in confidence particularly in this class and learnt how important it is to collaborate with others. We trust the teachers because we know they are fair and that we can discuss any problems with them.

The best thing about Owl Class is learning and being here with our friends.

3-D maps

This afternoon we have been using our map skills and our imaginations to create our own 3-D maps.

rivers

We had an amazing walk along the cycle track running by the River Lune. The Lune was in full spate due to recent heavy rain and we could see how this altered the flow of the river. Looking at the tributaries that flowed into  the river, we had a chance to use lots of geographical terminology as well as gain first-hand visual knowledge. We rounded off our morning by sketching the view at the Crook O’ Lune.

chairs

Our Design and Technology project was to design some innovative and exciting seats!

sharing a story

Owl class enjoyed sharing a story with the Key Stage 1 pupils on World Book Day.

jETTY jUMPING

We had great fun jumping off the jetty into Lake Windermere on our school residential.
