On Friday, there was a fantastic turn out for our Blessing, it was lovely to see so many pupils, parents, governors and friends and neighbours of the school gathered together to bless our school.
Mrs Ingram welcomed everyone, speaking about the vast changes the school has seen over the last 150 years.
The children from Class 4 read stories they had written, entries from the school log books from the 1920’s and sang songs to celebrate.
Rev. Hampson spoke about the symbolism of the stone and how WE are the school, the pupils, teachers, parents and friends. It really helped the children understand the feeling of us all being together as one.
This was followed by a traditional 150th birthday party, complete with party games and a spectacular cake, baked by our school cook Mrs Greenwood.
What a great start to our 150th year
